Los Sueños Marina Visitor Guide and Transportation Tips
· 6 min read

The heart of Los Sueños
Los Sueños Marina is the centerpiece of the resort and one of the best-known sportfishing marinas on the Pacific coast of Central America. White sportfishing boats and yachts line the docks, and the surrounding marina village has restaurants, cafés and shops, which makes it a natural gathering point for guests.
Sportfishing
The central Pacific waters off Herradura are famous for billfish, especially sailfish and marlin, along with species such as tuna, dorado (mahi-mahi) and roosterfish closer to shore. Charter boats offer half-day and full-day trips, and the marina hosts major billfish tournaments that draw anglers from around the world.
Fishing seasons vary by species, so ask your charter captain what is biting during your visit. Most offshore trips leave early in the morning.
Dining, shopping and sunsets
Even if you never set foot on a boat, the marina village is worth a visit. Grab breakfast or coffee overlooking the docks, browse the shops, and come back in the evening for dinner as the sun sets behind the boats. On tournament weeks the atmosphere is especially lively.
Getting to the marina

The marina sits at the waterfront, while many residences sit on the hills above it. That makes the trip down easy and the trip back up a climb. A golf cart solves this neatly: you can drive down for an early charter with coolers and gear, return for lunch, and head back for dinner without arranging a taxi.
Our carts start at $64.99/day with free delivery to eligible Los Sueños properties. See the Los Sueños golf cart rental page for details.
Practical tips for marina visits
- For early charters, load gear into the cart the night before.
- Park only in designated areas around the marina village, and follow posted signs and resort staff instructions.
- Bring sun protection — the docks have little shade at midday.
- Drive slowly near the docks and village, where pedestrians are common.
- During tournaments, expect more traffic and plan extra time.
